Established in 1957 by the late Atty Fernanda S. Balboa, the Children’s Museum and Library, Inc. (CMLI) is a non-stock, nonprofit foundation working to promote the welfare and development of the country’s children and youth.
For fifty years, CMLI, as an institution, has been contributing to the intellectual, social and cultural growth of our young through various symposia, seminars, exhibits, talent competitions and scholarship grants.
CMLI recently endeavors to respond to contemporary realities, sponsoring projects that raise the level of social concern among the young and inspire them to translate their idealism into constructive activities.
Meantime, CMLI continues to build a library for, by and about the young, collecting children
‘s works and artifacts and memorabilia of famous Filipinos when they were young.
In recognition of the commitment and contribution to child and youth development, the Department of Education has consistently endorsed and continued to endorse CMLI-sponsored projects. CMLI also enjoys the support of the business communities, government institutions, local and foreign NGO’s, Local Government Units (LGU’s), parents and both public and private schools nationwide.
With the nation’s children and youth as its sworn beneficiary, CMLI pursues the following objectives:
